I am trying integrate Mitel 3300 with Nupoint voice mail and I am stuck in half way and do not know how to proceed ahead.

I have done the following so far and looking for help further on:

On Mitel 3300:
1. Under License and Options – Extended hunt group is set to YES
2. Under System Feature Settings – configured Registration access code as *** and Replacement access code as ###
3. Under CoS - Created separate CoS for incoming & outgoing Nupoint ports having enabled COV/ONS/E&M Voice Mail Port, HCI/CTI/TAPI Call Control Allowed, HCI/CTI/TAPI Monitor Allowed, Public Network Access via DPNSS, and Do Not Disturb Permanent
4. Under Multiline IP Sets - Created IP end points (either as 5020 or 5240) (believe these will be useds as ports by NuPoint?)
5. Under Hunt Groups – Created a hunt group with hunt group type as Voice Mail
6. Then, when I try to add the IP end point created as the Hunt Group Member, I am not able to do that. When I enter the member and click Save. The dialog window disappears and I do not see it gets saved.

On MiCollab:
1. Under Users and Services – added Network Element with Type as Mitel 3300 ICP, with IP as Mitel 3300 ICP IP, with Registration/Replacement code as *** and ### respectively, with COS created for Incoming Nupoint ports in Mitel 3300, with Call Forward Destination number as Hunt Group created in Mitel 3300
2. Under Users – Created user with Authentication details
3. Under Phones – Clicked Add new Phone. Selected Phone Type as Mitel 3300 ICP Phone, Device Type as 5020/5240 and Number as the Hunt Group member (the same IP end point created in Mitel 3300) but I got error saying “Your request cannot be complete…” and if I check “Details” I find ICP Error: Phone already programmed on ICP.
4. Under Offline configuration – I can see Mitel NuPoint Messaging with IP details under Network Elements. I tried to add line group with Line group number 1, Name as “Voice Mail”, Application as NuPoint Voice, User Interface as NuPoint Voice. And then, tried to add Line Dialogue, but I do not find any option under PBX drop down.
5. Also if go into Nupoint webconsole and view “Offline configuration” I do not see any ICP IP address (however by the above error I could see Micollab is talking to Mitel 300 ICP since it is throwing error like phone already programmed on ICP)

As you can see I am stuck and not sure how to proceed further on both Mitel 3300 and MiCollab. I am sure I am missing something but could not figure out what. Any help for me is really appreciated!

On the MiCollab - When you added the network element, a prompt appeared at the top of the screen saying that the Nupoint Configuration had changed and that an Activation was required.

Did you activate?

Or worse, did you decide to further modify the offline config and did you copy the active configuration when you did so.

If my assumption is correct that you chose the latter option then I would remove the network element, activate configuration, reboot, and start over.

Hi kwbMitel,

I presume I need to configure the network element - Mitel 3300 ICP - in MiCollab Users and Services. After I configure, I did not witness any prompt asking me activation. I tried that again by removing network element and adding it again as well. I still did not get the prompt.

So after adding network element, I went to "NuPoint Web Console", clicked the "Activate Offline Configuration" and then clicked "Commit Changes & Exit". After that I got "Your Offline config has changed and you must activate the config to apply the changes to your system" and I clicked "activate". It shut down NuPoint services and prompted that " Activation completed successfully and the system will soon be operational".

Then did "View system configuration" but still do not see ICP details in it.

I believe because of it, when I trued to add lines (under Line Group), I do not see anything under the PBX drop down menu (where I believe I need to 3300 ICP that I added)

May be I am missing something or I am doing something not in the correct way. Appreciate if you can explain me a little bit detail.

Thanks!!

Sounds like it may be to do with the licnese to me, Ive seen it before when I have removed an ICP from the nupoint without releasing the license first. Think from memory I had to recreate it with same name, then release the license from the ICP and re add then tick the box to use nupoint license

Hi boycey9,

I am not sure how do you correlate with the license part. What I did was a fresh configuration. Can you suggest me a way forward as to how do I have network element reflect in the configuration so that I can add lines under line group?

I am just intermediate on Mitel configuration. So, If you could explain a little deeper that will be easy for my understanding.

I am about to do the same in the next few days.

Correct me if I am wrong but why would you need to configure your VM Lines in the MiCollab?
You need to only configure them on the 3300 as a Device Type = 5240 IP; Service Level = Trusted; and give the extension number.
For this extension number you will need to apply the CoS and COR numbers, which if you used MICW are 82 and 5 respectively.
Than you just add them to your circular voicemail hunt group.

Once that is done you jump on the NuPoint and do Edit Offline configuration...
Select Line Groups, from the menu.
Click Add or Edit voicemail hunt group.
Once the new window is opened on the Lines tab click Add, on the pop-up window for the Line Triplet select Next Available and enter the Extension number in the Mapping field.

You can also use the MiCW to do this. It is fully automated wizard. Skip everything to the point where you are prompted to configure the voice mail ports on the 3300.
You can download this from portal.mitel.com (you will need a login) > Software Downloads -> Mitel Application Suite -> MICW

It is a windows based install. You will fix your setup within minutes.
If you do not have access let me know to download the package and share it with you.

Hi cevvel

I have a few questions by looking at your post:

On MiCD:

4. Under Multiline IP Sets - Created IP end points (either as 5020 or 5240) (believe these will be useds as ports by NuPoint?)
Q - What are the service levels of these ports - have you made them trusted" ports

5. Under Hunt Groups – Created a hunt group with hunt group type as Voice Mail
Q - have you applied the COS you created prior to this step to the ports (end-points) before adding them here?

On MiCollab:

3. Under Phones – Clicked Add new Phone. Selected Phone Type as Mitel 3300 ICP Phone, Device Type as 5020/5240 and Number as the Hunt Group member (the same IP end point created in Mitel 3300) but I got error saying “Your request cannot be complete…” and if I check “Details” I find ICP Error: Phone already programmed on ICP..
Q - You do not need this - why are you adding this here? It is giving you this error because it is already present in the Mitel system. The fact that it is giving you this error shows that your MiCollab is integrating well with the ICP. You will need to look into the NuPoint Web Console at this point.

Q - Edit Offline >> Line Groups config will not show you any PBX details.
You need to add >> put a suitable name >> chnage User Interface to NuPoint Voice>> then under Lines you will ADD in the end points that you had created earlier. (you will need licenses to do this, if you dont have the licenses i will tell you)>> Save
Click next available where there is an option as such.

Commit changes and exit, then Activate.

To test dial the Hunt Group Pilot number or each end points.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Integration finally worked! When I added the Element as the MAS I did not tick the box for "NPM IP Integration". Actually I was misguided by another source not to check that out. When I checked out that option now and activated the configuration, I see 3300 appearing in PBX menu and the integration thus worked. Thank you very much every one for the timely help and support!

And Thanks warlockcode for stepping in recently by providing configuration insights. That helped me understand review my configuration better.
