Hi
I've used Easy Cleaner, Power Tools, Registry Mechanic and the like ......

What are others experiences of these ? Good bad ?

If anyone has a really good one they can recommend please let me know

thanks

I have included a link to a great article that gives you all the info you may want on registry cleaners. It is written by Fred Langa who I believe gives great advice and direction.

I personally use the paid version of JV16 PowerTools and find it to be a great product at a very inexpensive price.

I don't use Registry Cleaners much at all, possibly only as a last resort for some specific problem, then I would recommend JV16 Power tools, or their cut down version, Reg Supreme, available from
If you are doing anything with the Registry I also recommend this backup program.

Registry Backup and Restore for Windows NT/2000/2003/XP

I have three suggestions based on several years experience with all of them. Two of them are registry cleaners and the other is a wonderful little program for backing up the registry. I start with ERUNT (The Emergency Recovery Utility NT) for a fresh copy of the registry before the cleaners alter it. If you don't have it, get it at: With it you can restore the registry either within or outside windows. It has saved me much grief on several occansions and it is a free item. After backing up the registry I use jv16 Power Tools ( the initial cleaning. Lastly I use Reg Organizer ( pick up any items that were overlooked by jv16 Power Tools.

This combination works for me and has been my chosen combination of registry tools for a number of years. I have yet to experience a problem of any kind that can be attributed to their use.

I use AMUST Registry Cleaner and/or JV16 Power tools. some reg cleaners really do some damage ...on s side note CCleaner is very good at the temp removal and reg issues and is free

I have found that JV16 Power tools, AMUST Registry Cleaner, and CCleaner are pretty safe to use with the least amount of errors/no errors after they are done

some of the issues I have seen in the past with other reg clean software is Office will not update, copy protected software no longer work, boot up issues, deleted needed settings, deleted software, etc...

I use AMUST Registry Cleaner and CCleaner the most... Amust once in a moon and ccleaner on a daily basis to keep the temp files cleaned out
