We're looking at becoming dealers for the ipLDK-60 but there doesn't seem to be much info or user review of the product on the web. Would anybody here who has personal experience with the product be willing to discuss the pros & cons of the system?

Specifically I'd like to know:
Does it operate well as a simple key system (with true line appearances)
Is it reliable (no flaky lockups, reboots, etc)
Does it operate well with various SIP trunk providers
Are there any commonly used features that it's missing
Is it simple for the end user to operate and administer (name changes, password resets)
What are the best "whizzy" features it has

Thanks!

Hi there!

In general the LG product can be sold to a fair price with a feature level higher than you would expect from a PBX in that cost level.

I have tried to answer the questions here below:
Does it operate well as a simple key system (with true line appearances) -> Yes!
Is it reliable (no flaky lockups, reboots, etc)-> Yes, it is reliable, no maintenace issues.
Does it operate well with various SIP trunk providers -> Fairly good.
Are there any commonly used features that it's missing -> No, I guess that the feature level is very, very high.
Is it simple for the end user to operate and administer (name changes, password resets) -> Yes, since it is web based. Very good overview of the feature taht can be programmed.
What are the best "whizzy" features it has -> Linked Pair - parallel ring between two telephones (devices).

I hope that Mr. Morenot (member of this forum) can add his point of view since he is expert in ipLDK-60.

Excellent product for Small Bussiness
Unfortunately, Nortel was acquired by Avaya and the IpLdk-60 was acquired by Ericcsson
I don´t know if Ericcsson will continue develop the product..
In Mexico, had Megadealers who offered the Ip LDK-60, now they do not offer more.

Saludos...

I think LG-Ericsson will focus on iPECS, so ipLDK's will be phased out in the future, but that's only what I have heard.

I have heard that the IPECS Small as successor of the LDK is on its way.

ldk is end of sale in the UK (except the 20) so expect that to continue globally.
Otherwise its a pretty solid product , easy to administer ,solid hardware and good fault finding tools inbuilt to the administration element.

in my view the major area that is lacks is that almost everything ip based requires port forwarding no intelligent vpn tunnell set up like most other vendors for remote ip phones ,the sip is also port forwarding (much better to use a stun server or sbc) also the softphone and other periperal software are in my view quite bad compared to other vendors or even free ware.

xs650 hense the term almost, but does that set create its own vpn tunnel to the system and authenticate or do you need a third party vpn box hooked up to the local LAN???

SBG has it still integrated and LIK will get it, the other systems I don´t know.
But even when a PBX has an integrated VPN server almost any of our resellers
use external boxes(security reasons).

We've had good success with the LDK-60. Very reliable with a nice feature set. Our customers seem to like it, and it comes at a good price point. It is user friendly, especially if you program the buttons in a way that helps the end users.
