This must be a newbie question, but 'lookup' doesnt do what I thought it should. I have an HR/ scheduling project that I'm working on with an employee info table and an availability table - ssn is the key field in each. I'm trying to set up a calculated field in tblAvail that looks up employee name from tblEmp after entering ssn.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is from the control source of a txtBox on one of my forms, with your FieldNames. If this does'nt work for you, try the Lookup Wiz for the particular field in tblAvail. I am in kinda' rush right now, sorry about that, but maybe it will help you filling your fields.

You're not alone,

Almost forgot it:

=DLookUp("[EmpName]","tblEmp","SSN = " & [SSN])

is what should have been in my response.
