Long Binary Data Cannot Be Displayed

I just inherited an access db that has a field "sn"
I have been told that this field is an image.

all I can see in the field is a bunch of numbers and letters

What is the data type of the field?

The data type field is Memo

that did not help much, the problem is that I am ODBC into an as400 db I thought I could do an OLE but that did not work I am really stuck with this one and have no idea how to go about showing the image from the as400 db
