Hi all,

We have a test Win2003 domain for evaluation of Citrix Metaframe XP.

When opening a published app via Program Neighbourhood the ICA client connects and then does one of the following depending on whether 'store password' has been selected or not at the client:

If not stored then states 'checking credentials'
If stored states 'negotiating capabilities'

Now the logon takes the same amount of time regardless so I pressume that whatever is actually being negotiated is the same thing in reality?

My question is that once the logon reaches one of the above conditions it takes about 25 seconds before the app opens. Profiles are local and very small so is does this seem correct?

If I log into a full desktop via RDP then it opens almost immediately.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Regards,

Simon

Hi,

Try this:-

Delete ALL local printers on your PC.

Login via Citrix - Is it quicker?

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks but that didn't make any difference using the PN client.

Strangely I have just tries accessing apps through Web Interface using the ICA web client and it opens very quickly?

Regards,

Simon

Do you allow client drives to be mapped?
Had a customer that took about 30-45 seconds for a published app to start, disabiling client drivers made the problem go away.

Would have to agree that client devices are normally the hold up in launching apps.

Cheers
Scott
