Hey,

Posted this on the Win2K server forum aswell, see what I get.

Win98 Workstations, great, work fine. Win2k Server, fantastic. I then get 2 new Win2k Pro machines. Logon to the domain OK, and I can see the other machines in My Network Places fine, but I can't browse them. I get:

There is currently no logon server avaliable to process the logon request.

HELP! Its driving me mad. Just not taking anything! The other machines are still working ok, and they can browse the Win2k Pro machine fine. But it can't browse them!

Any ideas appreciated. Steve Hewitt

I am assuming that you have made the new machines members of the domain. If not, that would be your first step. Also make sure accounts are on the server for the user attempting to log on. I know these are basic thoughts, but sometimes we get involved so deep that we forget to check the basics first.

Recently had a similar problem at work. We found that the problem was that the PDC didn't recognize itself as the PDC. Luckily, the BDC (being an older and wiser machine) still had our PDC listed as PDC. Basically, the server needed to be rebooted. It wasn't recognizing itself, so 1 by 1 our workstations began losing domain privelages. They could browse the internet, but they couldn't see the other computers on the network. I know it's a long shot, but hey, the problem sounds slightly similar.
