My secretary can type and use proprietary software easily. But every morning login to my win 2003 server is a nightmare for her. I would like to simplify this procedure for her.
After loging on to win xp she has to click network places then to network groups and then double click on the correct file server, type in her user name then the password. close all windows and start our proparietary program. (2 usernames & 2 passwords)
How can I make it simple for her? Is there a short cut that can automatically log her in? I read somewhere this can be done using vb script. I have no knowledge of vb.
Any suggestions to help us out will be deeply appreciated.
thank you
God Bless

Im not sure about how you network is setup. Do you login localy to your computer rather then a domain?

From what I can tell your software runs from a share on a file server, correct? What you could do then is map a drive for her. Map a drive which will ask for credentials and tell it to Reconnect at login. Then Create a shortcut to the software on the mapped drive and place it on her desktop.

Then when she logs in all she has to do is double click the shortcut.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a bundle
