I am unable to log into one of my servers by going to start, run, \\servername\c$.

I get the error:

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. I am signed on as admin so I don't understand why I can't get to the server? Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks.

If you are connected to a domain, make sure that the user you are logging in as "admin" in this case, is part of the Domain Admins group, or the that the user is in the Local Group on the server as an Administrator. Also, make sure that the machine you logged onto was logging into the domain and not the local machine.

If you are connected to a workgroup, make sure that there is a user account on the remote machine that has the same username and password as the user you are connecting as.

Hope this helps a little.
