I have seen several threads on this but no real resolution,

We are setting up Exchange messaging in our office,

Everything is working well, DNS srv records are created etc etc..

How ever I have one 2000 pro laptop that will not connect messenger, I can connect with all other 9x and 2k machines, including to this account

The error message is:
The e-mail address does not match the username and password of the person logged onto this computer......

I can then enter the username and password and domain and I get a password is incorrect message,

Its odd, because I can logon to this account using any other machine in the building, just not this one,

I have tried Messanger 5 and 4.6, same symptoms

Definitely stick with Messenger 5. 4.7 which comes installed with Windows 2000 and XP by default, will not connect.

Check Tools > Options > Accounts and make sure only Exchange Messaging is checked. Use the whole logon name (username@domain - not just email address).

Are they logging into the domain, not locally?

Sounds like something strange with the user account?

Good luck! I have one PC that the emoticons do not function in Messenger. We have actually reinstalled Windows XP but still no go. I haven't bothered working on it, because who has time for such a trivial problem, but it sure bugs me!!
