hi all,

I just now set up a new SQL Server (2000) by copying all the databases from the old server to the new one.

Up and running now and we have very few issues - only a few login issues.

We use mixed-mode authentication.
I turned-on Login auditing....

So while looking at the logs, I found this :

Login succeeded for user 'sa'. Connection: Non-Trusted.

?? Is sa always a non-trusted connection?

I don't remember if the old server gave this message or not...

Anything to be concerned about?

Thanks, John

Yes sa is a non-trusted account. Trusted accounts are domain accounts.

Nobody trusts [sa] anymore :-D
Even in latest vrsion of SQL Server this account is turned off by default.
