Recently setup several waps in the shop to eliminate the cat5 drops we were consistanly having to request for relocating the shop PCs. The wireless works by itself and we've had no trouble with the Netware login previous to this.

The issue seems to be that the Netware login is asking for the login information before the wireless makes the connection, so I end up with the error stating that the tree could not be found. I realize I can continue to boot into Windows XP and then right click the Novell client and login but I'm not satisfied with this.

Is there any known fix for this problem? The PCs that are receiving wireless are all Windows 2000 or XP Pro. Thanks - Joe

Wait 15 seconds after you see the login box before you enter the username and password. Also if you use a 3rd party app to control your wireless instead of XP then it will probably not work because the windows wireless is a service and starts up during boot, 3rd party apps usually dont.

We run a similar application. Rather then using the 3rd party management for the wireless configure the wireless connection to let Microsoft manage it and it should start at bootup and allow the Novell login. The option is under the Wireless Connection properties in the "Wireless Networks" tab.Try setting the option to "Let Microsoft manage".

Are the ip's on the workstations dynamic or static? If you are passing dhcp across the wireless you may want to set static ip's on the workstations to see if it helps.
