Trying to push a file to a remote share. Had been working in the past but now fails.

Thanks ALL!

Thanks

OK ... this one still is a "stumper" but I have at least got it working again. I have dealt w/ permissions issues for as long as I have had to administer accounts so I pretty much have seen it all ... except this one.

We finally had to remove the account on the target server, drop the server from the domain, re-Add the account and perform a reboot, which probably didn't do a darn thing BUT for good measure, and low-and-behold ... the access has been restored and the jobs that push the files to the target server from the source are once again fine.

If I find the root of this issue, I will post it here.

Thanks All!

Thanks

had you tried just doing the drop account and readd account ? ive seen sql get confused sometimes, but it fixed it for me when i just droped and readded the account. i did have to do the reboot on one. never had to do the drop domain though...

Sure did ... drop/re-Add account that is. I too have had in the past the same issue you relayed. Dropped and reAddded did do the trick that time BUT not this time. Still trying to replicate the issue w/ no avail

Thanks

I am experiencing the same problem with a few of my windows 2000 machines. Not all are having the problem only a select few. I have 2 domain controllers, setup and it has been working good for 1 1/2 years.
Has anyone figured out a solution to the Login Failure: the target account name is incorrect?
Without removing the servers from the domain.

cdw0308,

1. You should have started your own thread on this.

2. You say you have the problem with Windows systems. How does this involve SQL Server?
