I try to open a SqlConnection and get the following error:

"The error occurred in: Error Message: Login failed for user 'sa'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."

What could be the reason? I'm new to this so please bear with me :)

thanks in advance!

It sounds like the server is set up to only use Windows Authentication rather than mixed mode. Check the server properties. You will need to use mixed mode to be able to connect with a sql login such as 'sa'. --James

Side note: Never connect using sa. Always set up another user. We are figthing with this now at my company. im working with the developers to change all thier stuff that conncects to the database with sa. its much easier to never do so in the first place.

Also the sa password could have been changed which is how I got my developers to stop using it. I changed the password and didn't let them have it. I did warn them a week in advance so they could change everything.

How do I share a database in the Enterprise Manager

Kvinson please start this in a new thread. It is also a different topic
