login error message with new password??

Hi all,

SCO 5.0.6. I setup a new user account and gave him an initial password which he will change to his own during 1st login.

He got the following error message

passwd: resource: /tcb/files/auth/d/username -t could not be allocated due to: cannot securely create new file

any ideas guys or gals

Try running
# /tcb/bin/authck -a | more

Look for problems. Report back if this doesn't help.

Thanks motoslide. I tried this earlier. I reset his pw and now it seems fine. I really appreciate the quick response
