Hi!
I have a little problem with one IP500V2 running version 9.0
The issue is that when I open the configuration the login code set within manager is lost.
I have E129 SIP phones connected to the system, therefore after I reboot the system the phones loose registration because my IP Office is not storing the login codes are emptied every time.

Any ideas what this could be? My next step is to factory default and upgrade it from scratch.

Mismatch on Manager version and IPO version. They changed something in how the passwords are hashed in the config when it gets pushed to the IPO.

If the Manager is older and the IPO is newer, they're using different mechanisms to hash those passwords and when you push that config and pull it back, passwords like that are blanked out.

Thanks!
I am running manager 9.1 and the IPO is 9.0. very strange.
I will re-upgrade the system to some other variant of version 9, hopefully solves the problem.

Thanks again!

Just use the same manager release as IPO version, whatever you need to do to get there!

I had this issue with smtp password being blanked out after merging settings. If I remember right, system was on 9.0.9 and manager 9.1.4. Even though manager will work correctly because the release is higher, keep in mind that 9.0.9 was released after 9.1.4 was released. What version of 9.0 is the control unit on and what version of 9.1 is manager?

I gave kyle some pink for not only posting here but he was also the one to point out the changing of hashing when I posted about my issue.

Hey, happy to help. Bit me in the arse. That's what these forums are for - learning from our collective failure!

From my experience. I do not use 9.1 Manager on anything except 9.1 systems.

I have found it isn't very backwards compatible. It has crashed everything from hunt groups, to lines, to extensions, (list ad infinitum).

If I don't know the version of the system I always start at 9.0.x as it seems to be pretty good at working with older versions.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*
*(Disclaimer for all advise given)--'Version Dependent'

The version of the IPO is 9.0.900.995 and manager is 9.1.0.0 build 437.
Shall I therefore use latest IPO manager 9.0 to prevent this from happening?

Thanks! for the advice. I never had any issues till this one here, but sure better rely on informed sources :)

I would not suggest using 9.1.0 for anything. Really the first release of any version tends to be bad and seeings how 9.1 in general isn't the greatest I certainly would not use the first version of it.

Since I had a similar issue I tend to keep a large cache of versions on my backup usb drive that I can run to match the version on the control unit. You actually only need 1 version installed, the rest you can just have the manager folder and it will run just fine. Just remember to change your directories in manager.
