Hello,

I have problems on my two citrix servers (2003/fr3). The logging off for every user is very long (about 4, 5 mns).

No significant message in my event viewer.

Do you have an idea?

Thanks.

Thanks JC but I already tried this and it is the same problem... At least 5 mns to close a session ("logging off")

I have roaming profiles for some people and local profile for others. For both the problem is exactly the same. And before this configuration, I had only local profiles and the problem was already present with quite same logout times.

I have no information in my event viewer about this problem but I will try the debugging mode.

Try the following;

To make sure machine logs user out fully;
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI
and add string
LogoffCheckSysModules = ssonsvr.exe

Thanks Chambers I tried with the string value you wrote but unfortunately nothing better.

I checked also the debugging user log (tip from JC) and no error during logging off.

I checked the server during a user logging off:

There is no process running for the user who is logging off; the user doesn't appear anymore in Citrix Management Console; but the user still appear in Windows task Manager/users =>
If I log off this user from this tab, his session logoff immediatly...

I'm stumped on this one. If you get the solution please post to help others. Good luck!

Can you replicate this problem with a user if you login/logoff via RDP instead of ICA-Citrix?

Does it take forever to logoff when you are sitting at the Citrix box?

This problem occurs in Terminal Server mode: in the Citrix Console, everything looks fine. So it is not linked especially with citrix. It must be in relation with rdp.

As I explained, when the logging off appears, on the server, there is no task in the task manager which appears for the user who is logging off. But his accout is still opened in users tab (from the task manager).
If I log it off from there, his profile closed immediately.

I wonder if it is in relation with the user's printers or components disconnection...

Hi,

What happens if you stop the spooler service for 5 minutes and get one or more users to log out. Does that speed the logout?

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks all, I finally found the solution:
in fact those delays were induced by our SMS client (installed on each server).

I uninstalled the SMS client on my two Citrix servers and now it is ok.

We are now searching for the specific SMS component which did the trouble.

For information, not only the logging out times are better now but the global Citrix times also.

So SMS client slow down Citrix in every parts.

Correct me if I am wrong but does SMS not come with a remotey controlly type thing.

That is probably the bit that stuffs Citrix.

I am guessing of course.

[blue]Arguably the best cat skinner around ! [/blue]

Cheers
Scott
