ok we have log shipping! :)

problem is the other day it took so long to restore a transaction log that, hey stoopid(yes thats me) was impatient and didn't check the size of the transaction log which would have been an indication, that it would take long!

anyway back to the point, i killed it, and then the dbase went suspect and basically we couldn't restore, cos it was sitting in a immoval restore state, so i recreated log shipping but its still giving the same error

even though i deleted the dbase and restored a newer version, deleted the log shipping and created a new one i still get this error.

I get this error

Executed as user: this_DOM\Services. sqlmaint.exe failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029). The step failed.

grrr and i have looked on the net and cant see what to do, sp4 is installed as far as i know, i think that was the only solution i found... HELP

Not familar with using the maintenance plan to do the log shipping, you may want to look at the log shipping solution that mrDenny posted in FAQ of this forum. The reason is that you deserve to know why it failed cos you are the DBA, so better stay with script you can read and modify, at least feel safe that way.

Look in log shipping monitor for a more specific error or event viewer on the box that failed
