Hi

I have some 159 log files such as

install.log
KB822831.log
wbemcore.log

and so on.

Is it safe to delete them or are they used byu the system or by the software if you need to do a repair?

If they are in use by the system you will not be allowed to remove them.

If they are needed at a later date by the system and you have deleted them, the system will recreate what is needed.

If you are unsure, leave the log alone. But any log you are permitted by the system to delete is likely perfectly fine to do so.

If the logs are found in c:\winnt, or in C:\Documents and Settings, go ahead and delete them. If the logs are in C:\winnt\system or \system32, you might consider to be perfectly safe leaving them, but personally I would delete them there too if I was in the mood.
