Does anyone know of all the .log and .err files that are in
Novell 4.11. Also, where are they located. I really
need help on this one. All I can find is sys$log and
abend.

Thanks

HI,
There is a VOL$LOG.ERR at the root of every volume and a TTS$LOG.ERR that I don't remember the location of but it is most likely system dir.

SBackup also writes .LOG and .ERR. It is necessary to store it in order to do a write verification. They are written in the root of SYS: and the .LOG in particular will grow with every backup.

So we generally move it to another volume (called as WORK: in our case) to avoid SYS: volume errors. When the tape gets rotated baack, we delete the .LOF and .ERR files.

End
