Hello,
I have a large database on a network server with approximately 20 people accessing it. The database was developed on a Windows NT Operating system in Access 97.
Until now the database has worked fine. Recently we had a new starter for which a new PC was purchased. This PC is connected to our network and is running Windows XP (Yes i know) and has both MS Access 97 and MS Access 2k installed. While both of these packagess work as expected on other databases there is still one database which persists in not working on this new pc. It is the only PC that is not working.
When trying to enter this Access 97 database we recieve the error message.
"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time"
I have successfuly opened the database in Access 2k and works fine but this user needs to make design changes to the database.
Hope someone can help. I have changed all the record locking options and there is only the standard password protection on the database.
