Lock The QuickLaunch Bar

Is there any way that the QuickLaunch Bar can be locked (preferable via Group Policy) so that no new icons can be added to it (either manually or automatically)?

yes, its just a folder, simply apply read, execute, and list permissions only, uncheck all other permissions.

folder is:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
