Lock default save folder in Word

Is there a way to lock the folder that word uses to save files? I know you can set the default document folder but if you open a document in another folder that is where it will try to save any new documents until you change it again or restart word. I have a user that is always "losing" his newly created documents.
 
You could probably use VBA to trap the save commands and set the correct folder before doing the actual save.
