I am tring to implement a new domain using win2K and I want the users to log on to the domain, but I also want them to have complete control (administrator Privilages) over the local machine that they are logged onto only. I do not want to implement they shared software technique. Is there a simple way to give the user administrator access to their local machine only while still upholding security rules on the rest of the domain?

The way that we have addressed this problem is to create a group, and make all users members of this group, then add this group to the Local Administrators Group on each Machine.

Open Control Panel on each workstation, (you must be logged on with admin permissions) open the users and passwords icon choose to add, browse your domain, select user, choose ok, select other administrator to grant full access to that local PC (including format)

open the control panel on local computers and double click on users and passwords
add the user and give them admin rights for the locan machine

this should work

let me know if this solves your problem
