I am slightly confused on how this works. We setup our internal domain (Windows 2003) to xyz.local. The external domain is xyz.com. Now when I installed exchange 2003 it setup everyones email to name@xzy.local and when they use OWA their login is name@xzy.local. Nobody outside the company can email them. How do I get it so their email address is name@xyz.com and when they use OWA their login is name@xyz.com instead of XYZ.local (if possible)?

I have read many books that talk about the RUS and making another domain? But then the books assume you have already made the second domain. If that is the fix how do you do that?

Thanks

Add an additional SMTP domain to your default recipient policy and make it the primary. Have the RUS do an update to the domain. Check the user accounts to verify that the new additional SMTP address has been inserted.

You will then have to set up MX records for the xyz.com zone on the internet so that mail can come inbound.
