Not sure which forum to post this question, so I will try this one.

Does anyone have any experience using MS Live Communications Server. My company is looking to completely revamp the customer support division and I would like some sort of feedback from those use have or that are now using Live Communications Server for their customer support.

Is it better/the same as/worse that Citrix? What are the pros and cons of the system?

Any feedback will be helpfull.

Thanks

Hi,

We are currently trialling LCS over our company WAN with a focus on the video calling aspect as we have a large number of geographically distributed sites. The video calling, instant messaging and Outlook integration features (much like MSN/Windows Messenger) are good and proving popular with the trial users. Application sharing can be a bit slow at times but we haven't been testing this much. We haven't actually thought of using this system for support purposes, but its not a bad idea. Not sure how good the performance would be out over the internet though. Our IT support staff currently use WinVNC for remote desktop access, which is a bit old school but quite effective.

cheers, Nathan

Live Communications Server Federation Services allows you to connect to MSN, Yahoo and AOL. This way, your users can use their own account to contact you internally to your company and use the Request Remote Assistance from MSN itself. If you are trying to learn about LCS, I would suggest for you to visit: to view the Unified Communications and Live Communications Servers free online training. In addition, you should look at the and the microsoft Live Communications server newsgroups (English Section under the Office and Desktop applications)

Hope this helps,
