Hi,

I'm new to VB programming and I'm trying to have a listview with checkbox on the left of the first data column. I've seen many example but they require you to enable the checkbox property of the listview.

Mine isn't there, I added a listview and changed the view to lvwReport and added my data columns. Now I would like to set my checkbox as they say I should but I don't see that property.

Any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

Where are you looking for it? I see mine in the Properties window on the VB IDE, when the control is selected, and on the General tab of the listview property pages.

That's where I'm looking for it too and I don't see it.

I have my form, my listview is on it named ListView1 and if I right click on it and select properties it's not there. If I look in the little pane with all the properties the selected item it's not there either.

The only else I can think of right now is that your ocx file may be corrupt or not being read properly or is not the most current version. You can try replacing it or ensuring that you have SP6 installed or reinstalling VB and SP6.

Thanks zemp,

I don't have SP6, so I'll try downloading that and see if it work after it's installed.

I realize this is an old post, but thought I would post if it happen that someone with the same problem search the forum.

I updated to SP6 but still couldn't get my checkbox, I found out today that while updating to SP6, my old MS Windows Common controls 5.0 was still in use from SP2. There was another marked SP6 just below it, I added the listview from that one and voila :)

Thanks for the answer zemp, I thought that installing SP6 would have overwrite my old files giving me the new one automatically but no, they don't even have the same file name.

comctl32.ocx for SP2 and MSCOMCTL.OCX for SP6.
