Lists, TOC: Having Trouble understanding

Hi
I've been using Xpress for a couple of years now and have only just started reading up about Lists and TOC (Table of Contents) in David Blatners QuarkXpress 4 Book.

I've spent a few hours working with it and can generate a list and TOC but still am wondering whether it's worth using or if I just don't get it yet. As yet I'm unsure.

Would appreciate any feedback.
