Listing Backed up files from tape media 1

I need to list or see the content of backed up files and directories in the tape media in the drive. How can this be achieve please?

I have tried the bplist but I didn't get what I needed. It just showed the netbackup folder. Please help. Also what is the purpose of the filename in the command?

bplist should work but it can be tricky and will return "no entities found" if the syntax is not correct. Use the -R to set a recursion level to get below the folder level. The filename Names the file or directory to list. If you do not specify a path, the default is the current working directory. Any files or directories that you specify must be listed at the end, following all other options. For directories, if you do not use the -R option, include the trailing path separator(/) as in the following: bplist -l "/home/user1/*"

I have tried same on my laptop and am getting "no entries found". Though am backing up to disk. I have in my backup selection C:\Dell to backup to my disk. After the successful backup, I tried listing the backed up files but I had the "no entries found" error display.

My listing command was "bplist -l -R C:\Dell" but it never listing anything but displayed "no entries found". What else do I need to do?

Hurray!!!! it worked Bob. This time I tried "bplist -l -R C:\dell" and it did the magic. Sometimes this NetBackup could be silly. The lower case d of Dell did the magic.

So I hope when I insert my tape media in the drive and try to list the content, it should work. I will try it when I get to where I tried it before.

yeah, NetBackup doesn't have an interpretation algorithm to suggest an alternate entry. Simple things like case sensitivity or fully qualified domanname (FQDN) can give you results that are frustrating.
