I didn’t think they made ProComm for Linux? I have used minicomm though running within ubuntu.. i would imagine you could get it for any flavor of Linux.

minicom is a decent app, a little hyperterm like.. fyi, you can add wine, (windows emulation). written for users that think explorer is worth using.. from the wine app you can install procomm.

i am working on a linux app that would emulate procomm and a conversion utility that would let you run aspect scripts. i ran a live disk for ubuntu, they wanted to sell me drivers? turned me off to that flavor.

Ubuntu wanted to sell you drivers? I use that one with no problem; and yes, WINE is a good emulator... How many sites do you dial up to? Nice thing about Linux - SSH is built in! ;)

i don't use dial up much anymore.maybe a dozen sites a year. mostly direct connect. and i'm sure the disk came from someone outside of the linux world.. anyone can download drivers, finding the right ones can be a problem, since your google gets 14 million mirrors..
