Good day ..

New to Unix, New to installing Oracle.

I am wondering what version of Oracle I need to install on the OS I just installed (Linux Mandrake 7.2)?

Looking at oracle.com, there are several versions under 8i for Linux. One is with OPS, while another is for Linux IA64.

Any help or direction is much appreciated.

Hi,

They have 9i available now --> . (You may need to register on otn first). Oracle say its certified on Suse 7.1 with kernel 2.4.4 but I imagine you wouldn't have any problems with Mandrake. I have version 8.1.7 running OK on redhat.

Regards
