I was wondering if there is a good IDE for Linux. I use PERL primarily. I have heard of emacs being used for this purpose but I hear there is a steap learning curve. Is there any program that rivals visual studio and is made for linux?

Any help suggestions would be great.

You could try komodo:
Too fancy for me but I still use joe, setedit
and kedit for development most of the time.

Do a google search for perl ide linux.
Most of the offerings are pretty poor however IMO.

joe?
setedit?
kedit?

Are these text editors or true IDE's? And where can I get them. I am pretty sure I have kedit on my machine already.
