I'm trying to backup my Red Hat 6.2 Linux server and receive an error.
Here's the log:
Performing backup of / to /dev/nst0 ..
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Wed Dec 3 10:18:10 2003
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/ida/c0d0p6 (/) to /dev/nst0
DUMP: Label: LinuxSvr
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 111711 tape blocks on 2.87 tape(s).
DUMP: Volume 1 started at: Wed Dec 3 10:18:10 2003
DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
DUMP: Closing /dev/nst0
DUMP: Volume 1 completed at: Wed Dec 3 10:18:25 2003
DUMP: Volume 1 took 0:00:15
DUMP: Volume 1 transfer rate: 2556 KB/s
DUMP: Change Volumes: Mount volume #2
DUMP: fopen on /dev/tty fails: Device not configured
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.
.. backup failed!
The tape drive seems to work fine. I've cleaned the tape drive and tried different tapes. I always get the same results.
Any ideas??
Thanks.
