Odd one this. Have setup wireless netowrking previously on my machine (Through a linksys WRT54G Broadband router), then added a Linksys PCI adaptor to another machine in the house (WMP54G) and successfully got the other machine on the net. However since installing SP2 the network adaptor in system devices is missing. So when I try to set up home networking, I am unable to do so as the wizard can not find a network adaptor. If I go to system tools, system information, there it is. But via control panel, system information, device manager, nothing??? How is it that the computer connects to the net with no problems, yet can not create a home network because it can not see the card? When I try running the setup disc supplied with the PCI adaptor, it refuses to run. No error messages, just does not run. (This is on the machine with the PCI adaptor installed ...... with fitted and working but not showing in the device manager

Thanks for the reply but it is a no go I am afraid. Have tried that before (and again since this suggestion) I have removed the pci card, deleted the driver. Followed he instructions in the same way I dd when I first installed it (and got it working correctly) and it still will not see the network adaptor. When I use the self check on the web site (linksys.custhelphelp) it correctly identifies that the driver is not fully installed. It then downloads the driver installs it then re-checks ...... then tell me the driver is not properly installed and so the cycle continue's. Yet despite all this it can connect to the internet via the PCI card and wireless but will not detect the card for the purpose of a network?!?!?!

The issue is that the network connection icon is missing.

Start, Run, cmd

regsvr32 netshell.dll
regsvr32 netcfgx.dll
regsvr32 netman.dll
regsvr32 at1.dll

exit

Restart the computer.

Further steps if the above does not sort the issue:
