Hi
I want to link two sql servers together BUT they have different sa passwords..

So when it comes to the security tab on the linking properties how do i put in that i want to use the SA account but with using a different password?

any help would be appreciated as im new to SQL...

Select the Security tab from linked server properties. Don't bother with the impersonate section.

At the bottom of the dialog, select the radio button that says "Be made using this security context". Enter the user Id ("sa") and password for the server you are linking to.

This should work for you.

Good Luck!
