I have a document that is over 300 pages long, each page contains a unique page number. I need to link these pages back to a page at the begining of the document. Anytime I change the page status I would like the front document to be updated automatically.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by "page status"?
What do you mean by "front document to be updated"? Don't you mean the other pages? Is not the "font document" (??) remaining the same. In any case, if you are trying to navigate to specific locations...

1. Insert a bookmark at the location you want to jump to.

2 a) Use a hyperlink. Anywhere you want. Put text like "Back to Page 2". This assumes you put a bookmark named Pg2. Select the text "Back tpo Page 2", then Insert > Hyperlink, Place in This Document, select the Bookmark "Pg2", Select OK. Done. User has to hold Ctrl key and click to jump.

2 b) Again, place a bookmark at the location you - assuming again "Pg2". Insert a field on whatever page you want to jump from. Insert > Field, and select a GoToButton. Type the text you want to appear - say "Go to Page 2", select the bookmark you want to GoTo. Select Ok. Done. User double clicks the text, and it will GoTo.

2. c) Again, place a bookmark....this is a good demo of the use of bookmarks! Write a Sub like:

Sub GoPg2()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="Pg2"
End Sub

Insert a macrobutton field, pointing to the Sub.
