Linking multiple text boxes

How come the link tool only lets me link one text box at a time? I have 8 boxes that I need to link, so I select the link tool, click box 1, then box 2, then the icon turns into a pointer tool. This means I keep having to re-select the link tool each time.

This is in Quark 6.0 on a Mac

Hold down your option key when you click on any tool in the toolbar for it to stay active

that worked in v.4, but turns into a hand in 6.

Hold down your option key while you click on any tool in the toolbar at the same time for it to stay active. When the curser is not over the toolbar it turns into a Hand when you hold Option down.

This really does work...
