linked VB to Oracle via ODBC

i just want to know..is ODBC needed to link VB and database from Oracle?

AFAIK, yes... you add a Data Environment using the Oracle ODBC driver and then build your connection from there.

If Oracle ODBC does not appear in this list, you can try adding it: Start>Setting>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Data Sources. Clikc on Add, scroll down, select the Oracle one.
