Linked server hangs

Hello all. I have a linked server (to an AS400). When I try to view the tables/views from the local server, I see everything fine, however, when I'm not at the local server, and just accessing through a client, when I click on the table/views to see what's there (in EM) it just hangs and doesn't respond. How do I access the linked table from both local server and from a client?

date source=(a system data source on server, and the computer I'm using has same system data source)

Do you have the iSeries client drivers installed on the client?
