Linked object in WORD...not auto updating :-(

Hi,

I have am Office XP Word doc with a linked object (Excel sheet) that will not auto update.

If I dbl click the object, it will open Excel and reflect the changes, but upon close of the word doc the object reverts to original.

I have checked auto update option from the "links..." propertie of the object, but no joy.

Am I missing a really good menu somewhere?

Can I force this update via VBA...if so does anyone have Example code.

ETID: What happens if you hit Ctrl+A then F9 in the open document (not the worksheet)?
