question...before we were able to transfer a incomming call to any number by using the link feature (Feature* 7, 1)..

example...customer would call and ask for the sales rep...since the current sales rep is out of state we would push (Feautre* 7, 1) which enables "Link Mode", then we would just input the sales rep's number, and hang up...call would automaticly be transferd to the inputed number...

But now for some reason, when we try the "Link Mode" then hang up...the customer automaticly gets transfered back to our work #...instead of the current "Link" # that was inputed...

any ideas why this is? and how to fix this problem? It would work before, but not anymore for some odd reason. Its not the cell# on the other end because we tried diffrent numbers. verizon did upgrade our analog lines to T1, might this be the reason why?

I would start with Verizon because it looks like they are not taking control of the call which is what you are requesting when you use the LINK feature.

One thing to note- Link is Feature 71, not Feature *71. Try it without the star before you call your service provider.

To make things easier, you can program link to a button on any set. Press Feature *3, then the button you want to be link, then Feature 71.

To link a call, just press the button, wait for the distant end to begin ringing, and hang up.

If the T1 is direct to the TELCO it is no diffent than a copper line. they just cross connect to that Digital Cross Connect in the CO.
According to ATT / SBC this is available.
If they are Centrex, make sure the Call Transfer Feature in on the line.
If it is a POTS, you have to pay for the call transfer feature.
CAll the TELCO and make sure the featur is still on the line. Translations may have omitted the featur when you cahnged over.

Im still new at all of this stuff...so I dont understand the terms of TELCO, CO, POTS, etc...If T1 can not support the Link feature this explanes a lot. Is there a way where I can transfer a current customer on hold to a cell phone #? I noticed when I dail the Link #...then push Link again, it sends it into a three way with all of us, but once I hang up, it cancels all 3 of us. I just want to connect the Link# and Customer. Must I call Verizon and add a 'Call transfer feature' then program a button which will allow the call transfers? how is this done?

If the "Link" or "Flash" is working to create the Three way, then you need the "Call Transfer" option enabled from Verizon.
There is a charge for the feature if it is not in the same Centrex Group.
Call and order the option from Verizon. Ability to tranfer calls.

TELCO = Telephone Company
POTS = Plain Old Telephone Service
CO = Central Office of the Telco

Try Feature 70 (Transfer) and dial the cell number. It should be a piece of cake with a T1 because your routing is already built.

If you want to get out of a 3 way call, press Feature 70 and hang up, that tranfers the call to the other two members.

Before you can transfer, you have to take the call of hold and use the transfer feature above the right soft key to manage the call.

...Just tried this method, when I push Feature 70, Then try to dail the call out number...after the first # it will say
INVLD NUMBER...it wont let me dail the full call out number.

also tried the Feature 70 from a 3 way call...all it did was put my line on hold, the 2 people can talk but theres back ground music comming from my end due to the hold.

Do I need to call Verizon and tell them to enable the call transfer? or is there any other ways to do this?

** verizon did upgrade our analog lines to T1, might this be the reason why? **

My understanding is that Link is used for Centrex Transfers. Where your analog lines Centrex before the cut over to a T1?

Do you have to dial 9 to access an outside line, if so are you adding a 9 in front of the cell # you are transferring the call to?

As far as the conference feature, I misdirected you. I assumed you were conferencing through the phone system and not through the Telco (it would help if I could read). It won't work unless you establish a conference using F4.

Can you setup a 3 way outside call using the Featur 71. If you can, the Link is working.
That is called 3 way conference.

If you can not Blind transfer using the Featur 71...

You should call Verizon and ask for the Call Transfer Feature.

Are the lines in a Centrex or ESSX group?
