Hi
I have a long shema to explaing my circuit.
It begins with AS5300 (E1 circuits) and goes on RAD mux and goes over Ericcson STM-16 SDH then Linerunner G.703 modem and analog lines then V.34 Linerunner modem connected o Cisco 805. i am receiving AIS on the mux. and
cisco 805 gives
DCD=down DSR=up DTR=up RTS=up CTS=down

is there anybody to give me an idea about this?

thanx
murat

DCD= Data Carrier Detect
DSR= Data Set/Send Ready
DTR= Data Terminal Ready
RTS= Request To Send
CTS= Clear To Send

DTE= Data Terminal Equipment (your Cisco box)
DCE= Data Communication Equipment (your modem)

I beleive that the connection between Ericcson STM-16 SDH and V.34 Linerunner modem could not be established. Cisco simply says that the other side does not response.

These are all I remember from my data transfer lessons at moment.
If you need exact and detailed info about that error message, you should search for a document or RFC about RS-232C signaling.
