I setup a DNS using Win2K Server as an Internet Gateway for
users on a LAN. I dont want to use is as a proxy server for some reason but I want to control certain IP Address on a LAN which I will allow to gateway over my DNS through the Internet.
Can anybody give me some tips ?

I'm also interested on how to conrol it on DNS. Alternatively if you have DHCP server, you can do it there. Use the class option for controling the gateway/router and WINS, DNS ip addresses to be assigned to the PCs. Example, if you don't give them gateway ip or diff IP, then they can't surf the net.

Hi Ric,

I couldnt setup DHCP to my server coz for some reason that Im also running Unix server on the same network with the same subnet and I got 100's of users over the same subnet. What I only want to control are those hip users coz once they know my router IP address and my DNS IP they can easily setup their WS just to use the correct DNS and gateway IP and they are on the internet.
How can u use the Class option over different types of PC's?

Thanks for your time Ric, appreciate that.
