Hi,
Is there any way I can set a limit on the number of users I have connecting to my Oracle server. I have an installation of Oracle which contains several schemas which has various sets of users connecting to. Does anyone know how I can set an overall limit on the number of allowed connections to the Oracle server, regardless of which schema the user is connecting to.

Thanks

Create a profile with SESSIONS_PER_USER = ? and assign this profile to the users.

The standard way of enforcing this type of limit is by setting the startup parameter, license_max_sessions, to the limit you want. You can also set the related parameter, license_sessions_warning, to generate alerts when you get close to the maximum.

Mufase .... karluk, thanks a lot for your help. I'll give them a try.
