limitations on fields

Hi Group
Wat is the limitation on number of fields that can be inserted on the report(column wise)..Here is the concern .I need to create a report that will be exported to excel. I have hundreds of fields that need to be inserted.Im running out of space on the designer. any solutions !!

Hi,
If you are only ( and I hope so, with that many fields)going to export this data, then how the fields are placed in the report is irrelevant..Use a Data Only export and you can place as many fields across and down ( use multiple lines) in the detail section as you need - I just drop the entire column list into the section..

When exported, the data will be placed in separate columns in Excel - I just did one with 10000 rows and columns from A to CG, with no problems..( Use the Options tab of the export to eliminate the header and footer if you want)
