I have a client that is running 8.1 IP Office 500 v2. This client wants the world from Embedded and I am starting to understand things here and there. I am starting this post to compare how others would program this situation. I thank anyone ahead that gives me some programming tips and of course for your time.

This client would like to have the ability to have an AA that automatically will play a NIGHT greeting when the business is closed, a MEETING greeting when the office is in a meeting and a HOLIDAY greeting for closed during the holidays greeting. Also this client would like to have the ability to enable or disable any of these greetings manually.

I have already explored the use of multiple AA's, time profiles and twinning virtual extensions. If you could let me know how you would program this up that would be great. Or if embedded has the ability to do so. All the sets are 9508s so we have lots of buttons.

Thanks again for your time.

Manually is only an option with VMPro.
The rest can be done with embedded.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Also be careful mixing automatic and manual options like that, it can get messy, best to go one way or the other. But as Peter said what you want needs VM Pro not embedded :)

Erm, you can do exactly what you want with Embedded, by using a mixture of time profiles and hunt groups.

You can use manual options by putting HGs in and out of service with virtual users in the groups.

I reckon with a bit of nutting out, you can do it.

Not big or clever and pretty tight on the customers behalf, as VM Pro would have this covered in an hour or so.

The fact it's a 3 way switch would make it confusing to say the least, 2 way not so bad as it's 1 group with night and out if service fallbacks but not 3 way, also mixing time profiles with multiple groups and buttons would make it pretty much unworkable as a solution, we could probably do it but we understand the way the system works to a degree the cusomer won't, when they have lost track of where they are (which would be frequently) you know you're support phone will be ringing :)

*your support phone, not you're :)

this is technically doable with embedded... with caveats.

1. Night greeting can be done via time profiles or with a button (HG night service), but the button will always override the time profile (e.g. you can force night to be longer by pushing the button, and stop the phone system from coming out of night mode by not turning the night button off in the morning.
2. Night CANNOT be made shorter with a button (only longer). You want to make night shorter, you change the time profile, and don't push the button.
3. Meeting setting should probably only be done via a button (HG OOS), but is doable. This would drive the calls to a different AA, possibly same options, but a special greeting/preamble.
4. Holiday greeting can only really be done via using the morning (for example) greeting in the AA, with an associated time profile.

A nightmare to support though. So much easier with VM pro.
