I have a multivantage 11, G3SI hardware.
I have 2 telco carriers, with lines configured for two way in and out, so I have 2 trunk groups.

Trunk Group 1 and Trunk group 2, both configured as ISDN PRI.

I'm using ARS tables to send calls out calls first through Trunk Group 2, then Trunk Group 1.

Is there anyway to limit the number of outgoing calls?
My problem is that with this config, Trunk Group 1 does not get used until Trunk group 2 is completely full.

However with TG 2 full, then no incomming calls can be accepted on it.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

I have the same configuration here. TG1 should be first choice on outward calls and TG2 should second choice outward. This would leave TG2 to be the inward TG and outward when and If necessary.

All you need to do is swap the order in the route and you should be ok.

I hope this makes sense

Hi Ed.
Thanks for the response. However, in my case, TG 1 and TG 2 both have incomming and outgoing. With my current set up TG2 incomming gets blocked.
If I swap them, all I end up doing is changing my problem and get incomming blockage on TG1 instead.

Any other suggestion?

break both tgs into two more TGs. for a total of 4. Break TG 1 into TGA and TGB, then TG2 into TGC and TGD.

Then in your route patter add the TGs

A
C
B
D

That will alternate outgoing TGs between the two orginal.

Another way is to tell the telco to route the calls inbound over both as well. At the telco if TG1 inward towards the customer is busy route the call over TG2 and if TG2 inward toward the customer is busy route the cal over TG1. If both TG's are in the same CO you should have no problem. You program your routes oppsite the telco. IE: telco are routing in TG1 then TG2 - You route out TG2 then TG1. Also pay attention to the field Trunk Hunt: on page one of the trunk group form. This also should be oppsite of the telco. If the TG's are in different CO's you might need an inter office facility. If this is necessary a good selling point is CO diversity.

I hope this makes sense
