Thanks.
My charges are pretty much spot on for the level of service I provide

In fact, I do tend to undervalue work (a habit I am getting out of!)
Rentacoder is a special case as I was competing against, as you say, people from Bangladesh, India, Eastern Europe etc where the cost of living is lower. I have no doubt there are many skilled coders working there, but it does say something when clients still use me via Rentacoder
after using low cost services. They are willing to pay a premium for someone who thinks rather than just bangs out code.
I don't work through Rentacoder anymore as I don't need to and I found it just wasn't worth it.
Ultimately you get what you pay for.
You paid $150 for a template you weren't happy with. One of my clients paid me $400 for a template they were very happy with and worked very well for them. These coding teams are like factories with lots of people that don't really care what they pump out so long as it passes inspection and they get paid. I'd liken myself more to a craftsman - low volume, high quality as opposed to high volume and 'who cares'.
Incidentally, I'm not touting my services as I'm way too busy!
