Lift handset and activate key other than PDN

Is there a way to program a M2616 Rls 7.0 to activate key 8 instead of key 0. The reasoning behind this is so caller id for department is all the same.

You can set it to answer a group of buttons (or specific buttons) on inbound calls, so when you pick the handset up it answers the ringing key, but I do not think there is away to do what you are asking. What you might want to consider is swapping the keys on 8 and 0, so they always pick up the department line when the handset goes off hook.

I'm aware of the ringing group (IRA OLA LPK) I’m just trying to think of a work around so people internally get the department number not the provider private DN. I tried CLID tables that did not work either. Also when the provider picks up their phone they would get their line key 8 SCR XXXX D and not tie up the department lines SCN XXXX 0.
