lifespan of LTO1

Hi,we are using IBM LTO ultrium 100Gb(08L9120) data cartridge for our daily backups.My question is,

1.What are the lifespan of this tapes?
2.When should I change the tapes?
3. How do I monitor the aging of each tape?
